Our group has a long tradition in the observation  of magnetic structures by a variety of microscopes, starting with X-ray topography and Kerr optical microscopy in the early 70's. We run at present two setups of Kerr microscopy (reflection), one of Faraday microscopy (transmission), one Magnetic force microscope (MFM) in ambient conditions and finally one UHV-STM.

The other research theme of the group is about micromagnetic modeling of the magnetic structures, be it static or dynamic. We include now the effect of thermal fluctuations in some calculations.
