| This conference is organized in honour of Anne-Marie LEVELUT on the occasion of her retirement. Anne-Marie LEVELUT is one of the leading experimentalists in the world working on liquid crystals. Her major contributions span fields as various as solid-like smectics, discotic liquid crystals, polar mesogens, self-assembly through H-bonding, chiral and antiferroelectric smectics. | All through her career, she has been a precursor in pioneering new X-ray scattering techniques for the study of liquid crystals. Her latest contribution, resonant X-ray scattering, proved decisive for understanding the structure of chiral and antiferroelectic smectics. Her numerous collaborations with chemists illustrate her unique capability to relate molecular organization with chemical architecture. |
