SUMMARY:Nicolas DUPUIS. Universal thermodynamics and two-body contact of a Bose gas near the superfluid–Mott-insulator transition
DESCRIPTION:\nLe résumé : \n\n\n\n   The thermodynamics of a dilute Bose gas is well-known to be universal. The pressure depends on the atom mass and the s-wave scattering length, but is otherwise entirely determined by a universal scaling function.    Within the framework of the Bose-Hubbard model, we show that a similar result applies to a Bose gas in an optical lattice near the superfluid–Mott-insulator transition induced by a change in boson density. Furthermore, we demonstrate that a two-body contact — a quantity relating the universal thermodynamics to the momentum distribution in a dilute Bose gas — can also be defined for a Bose gas near the superfluid–Mott-insulator transition. We argue that this contact can be measured in state-of-the-art experiments on Bose gases in optical lattices and in magnetic insulators\n\n\n\nNicolas DUPUIS, LPTMC, Sorbonne Université\n\n\n\nContact: andrej.mesaros@universite-paris-saclay.fr ( mailto:andrej.meszaros@universite-paris-saclay.fr )\n
