Spin coating on textured surfaces and nonlinear extension of the Griffith formula

We discuss the stability of moving liquid thin film on textured surfaces in a number of situations [1], and possible nonlinear extension and its experimental confirmation of the Griffith formula in the fracture mechanics [2]. If the time allows we may talk also either on drag friction in a two-dimensional granular media [3], on viscous drag friction acting on a fluid drop confined in a Hele-Shaw cell [4], or on a simple model of spider webs which explains why radial threads stronger than the spiral threads [5].
