Lorène Champougny received a L’Oréal-Unesco fellowship

Lorène Champougny was awarded a L’Oréal-UNESCO fellowship for Women in Science on Thursday, December 4th. These fellowships are given annually to ten female PhD students for their scientific excellence, for the originality of their research and for their ability to pass on their passion for science.

Lorène Champougny is starting her third year of PhD in the "Liquid Interfaces" team of the LPS. She works on the dynamics of films and soap bubbles. By combining experiments and simulations, she studies their generation and rupture by integrating the dynamics of surfactants.

This award also recognizes her popularisation work with another LPS team, "Physics Reimagined". Moreover, she gave many high-school conferences to share her passion for soap bubbles, objects that are more complex than they seem.
