The Laboratoire de Physique des Solides (CNRS and University Paris-Sud) will be hosting an international conference on "Correlated electronic states of low dimensional systems. June 16-17, 2008. This event, which is organised in partnership with the Centre de Physique Théorique de l’Ecole Polytechnique and SPEC-CEA Saclay, will focus on strongly correlated electron systems.

Our friend and colleague Pascal Lederer contributed in a significant way to many topics that will be discussed during the conference.
This meeting is meant to honor him as he is about to bring a rich scientific career to an end. (at least officially !)

Among the scheduled subjects :

  • Oxides and cuprate superconductors
  • Heavy fermions
  • Organic compounds
  • Quantum spins
  • 2D and quasi-2D electron gas
  • Meso- and nanoscopic systems
  • Graphene
  • Cold Atoms in correlated condensed matter
