I will give an overview of activities at TotalEnergies in the domain of quantum computing with a special emphasis on current in-house development related to Majorana zero modes.
In the first half of the talk, I will stay in the domain of chemistry and material science and present state of the art quantum computing solvers. A special emphasis will be given to carbon capture with Metal-organic frameworks. Contemporary optimization algorithms for quantum computing will be mentioned with a brief overview of recently developed software solutions at TotalEnergies.
In the second half of the talk, I will pay special attention to efforts in quantum error correction with an emphasis on a recent preprint [1]. There the Kitaev chain is exactly solved with quantum computing methodologies and solutions of the Kitaev chain are prepared on a gate-based quantum computer. Such generated eigenstates of the Kitaev chain Hamiltonian show 8 distinct features commonly attributed to Majorana zero modes.
