NOVEL ELECTRONIC STATES OF MATTER
Both experimental and theoretical studies are concerned with quantum and strongly interacting systems. Coupling lattice, spin, charge and orbital interactions leads to unique properties of new materials, which are regularly discovered.
PHYSICAL PHENOMENA IN REDUCED DIMENSIONS
This axis deals with “nanoscience” considered in a broad sense. Phenomena are studied from the point of view of fundamental properties when the dimensions of an object become as small as some characteristic length scales (coherence length, mean free path…).
