33rd European crystallography meeting (EMC33) in Versailles

The 33rd European Crystallographic Meeting will be held at the recently refurbished Music Conservatory and Congress Centre in Versailles, close to Paris, between 23rd and 27th of August 2022. Both venues overlook the famous Versailles Chateau. Early bird registration is open until April 18!

On behalf of the European Crystallographic Association (ECA) and of the French Association of Crystallography (AFC), the Local Organizing Committee, with the help of the ECM Program Committee, prepared an exciting scientific program, with high level Plenary and Keynote Speakers. The program is now available online. Two topical public lectures have been prepared, covering the restoration of Notre Dame Cathedral and the celebration of the bicentenary of the death of Abbé Haüy.

The improved pandemic situation has allowed us to prepare a face-to-face meeting. The local organizing committee chaired by Sylvain Ravy, former director of the Laboratoire de Physique des Solides, and co-chaired by Andrew Thompson (Director of the experiments division, SOLEIL synchrotron) and Jean-Paul Itié (head of the Psyche line, SOLEIL synchrotron), would like to encourage young scientists to consult the webpage for information on bursary applications.

The weather in Versailles is usually very nice at this time of year, and our Conference dinner will consequently be held in the prestigious Potager du Roi (King’s Vegetable Garden). Versailles offers numerous opportunities for extra curricular visits, and the committee is currently preparing an attractive social program.

ECM33, in Versailles, will be a fruitful meeting set in historical surroundings, and the local committee is looking forward to seeing you there.
