On March 6, 2025, the Solid State Physics Laboratory (LPS) unveiled “Strate Mésoindus,” a monumental sculpture by Jean Suzanne, installed on the laboratory’s forecourt.
This steel work, inspired by geological processes, highlights the tensions and fractures that shape our mineral world. It perfectly resonates with the research conducted at the LPS on the physics of materials and the fundamental interactions that structure matter.
We extend our sincere thanks to Camille GALAP (President of Université Paris-Saclay), Hervé Dole (Vice-President of Art, Science and Society), Denis MERLET (Dean of the UFR Sciences), Pascale Foury (Director of the LPS), Patrice Godard (Directorate General of Services – Responsible for the Preservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage), and Lydia Harambourg, art historian. And of course, a huge thank you to Jean Suzanne for this inspiring creation!
