On Sunday, October 5th, 2025, the Science Festival came to life on the Petit Plateau de Saclay, at the heart of the laboratories of LPS (Laboratoire de Physique des Solides), ISMO (Institut des Sciences Moléculaires d’Orsay), and ICMMO (Institut de Chimie Moléculaire et des Matériaux d’Orsay).
From 2:00 to 5:30 p.m., visitors of all ages had the opportunity to dive into the fascinating world of research through hands-on workshops, spectacular demonstrations, and guided laboratory tours.
🔬 Highlights included:
Experiments on superconductivity, graphene, liquid crystals, and magnetism, along with fun, interactive activities such as growing salt crystals, creating giant soap bubbles, or exploring non-Newtonian fluids with the Maïzena workshop.
Visitors also discovered StoKaChic, a unique art and mathematics jewelry workshop, and learned how gold can change color through the use of nanoparticles.
✨ It was an afternoon full of discovery, curiosity, and inspiring exchanges between the public and researchers — a true celebration of science and the joy of learning!
📸 We are delighted to share some photos by Christophe PEUS from this year’s edition, capturing the enthusiasm and excitement that filled the event.
