Since 2024, CNRS Physique has introduced a personalized support program designed to assist researchers at key moments in their careers: taking up a new position, navigating transitions, questioning the meaning of their work, or dealing with professional challenges.
Tailored, confidential, and voluntary support
This program is based on a voluntary approach and offers one-on-one sessions tailored to individual needs. In many cases, a limited number of meetings is enough to clarify a situation, define objectives, and develop concrete strategies.
The first session focuses on understanding the researcher’s context and setting a clear goal, which then guides the rest of the process.
Supporting career development
The program aims to:
- support new roles and career transitions,
- help identify and leverage existing skills,
- structure actionable plans aligned with professional goals.
Rather than providing formal training, it builds on the researcher’s own resources, helping them recognize and develop their strengths.
Navigating transitions
This support is particularly valuable during periods of change, such as returning from extended leave or reconsidering one’s career path. It helps researchers better understand changes in their professional environment and reposition themselves with clarity.
Restoring meaning and motivation
When facing a loss of motivation or a mismatch between expectations and daily work, the program helps researchers:
- regain confidence in their abilities,
- reassess their motivations,
- reconnect with the meaning and enjoyment of research.
In some cases, it may also support broader reflections on career evolution or even professional reorientation.
A complementary initiative
This program focuses on professional development and does not replace existing support systems for psychosocial risks or medical care, which remain essential in cases of severe stress or burnout.
